Escalator structure
It consists of 5 core assemblies:

 

1. Drive system
Main drive unit (motor & reducer): Power source
Drive sprocket & drive chain: Transmit power to drive steps

 

2. Step track system
Step: Pedal carrying passengers
Step chain: Connect all steps to form an endless loop
Guide rail system: Restrict step travel path; flatten & fold steps at landings
Tension sprocket (lower return section): Tension step chain and compensate chain elongation

 

3. Handrail system
Handrail: For passengers to hold
Handrail drive wheel, guide roller & support roller: Drive handrail synchronously at the same speed as steps

 

4. Truss
Bear all loads. All components are mounted inside the truss, spanning between upper and lower floors.

 

5. Control & Safety System
Control cabinet, various sensors and emergency stop switches.
Standard safety devices: Handrail inlet protection, missing step detection, overspeed protection, skirt panel switches, brake, etc.
Working Principle

 

Motor → Drive sprocket → Drives endless step chain. Meanwhile, the handrail runs synchronously. Steps automatically flatten and fold at upper/lower landings to achieve continuous passenger transportation.
