The handrail belt of the escalator or moving walkway is a moving part for passengers to help, located on the top of the guardrail on both sides, and the running direction is the same as the steps and pedals. Its operation is driven by the armrest belt driving wheel on the driving spindle to drive the armrest belt friction wheel, through the friction wheel and the armrest belt friction, so that the armrest belt and the step run at the same speed.
According to the relevant provisions of the national standard of the escalator, the handrail belt should be synchronized with the step or faster than the step (deviation 0-+ 2%) The handrail belt and the pedal have their own independent drive system, and the handrail is faster than the pedal, in order to prevent passengers from falling back due to the lagging of the handrail.
